Is it wrong that despite all the great info in this video, I spent the most amount of time pondering how the video was able to keep the subjects in focus and everything else out of focus? Was it done with a lens on the camera, as it used to be done, or was it a rotoscoped / matte situation with After Effects? I am such a post-production nerd...
It looks like just a shallow depth of field to me. There's definitely some post processing going on with Todd Sklar but it's not complicated to do the DOF thing in-camera.
